November 6 and 7, 2014
Jay Freeman, John Schumacher, and Dennis Shelp will be attending the 20114 DRI Fire Science and Litigation Conference in Scottsdale, AZ.  This seminar offers an in-depth analysis of issues on the cutting-edge of fire investigation and litigation.

November 7, 2014
Carol Chavez will be attending and serving as a volunteer jury member, at the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association’s Annual Trial Academy in the Denver Tech Center.  This event is designed to provide attorneys with  greatly enhanced advocacy skills and the confidence necessary to handle the rigors of courtroom practice.

November 18, 2014

John Schumacher and Zachary Jason will be presenting at DU for the November 18, 2014 CPCU meeting on the topic of the investigation of marijuana hash oil explosions.  Carol Chavez will also be attending.

November 20 , 2014

AEI will be hosting a seminar titled, “Know Your Fire Sprinkler System and Legal Aspects of a Loss.”  This seminar will cover the basic knowledge required in order to successfully conduct an investigation involving frozen fire sprinkler piping.

Some of the topics discussed will include a general background of fire sprinkler systems, responsible parties, applicable codes, and protection of pipe and components from freezing. The seminar will also address the evidence and information used when evaluating and examining a building, sprinkler systems, and components. Actual cases will supplement the materials by giving real examples of cases worked in the past. The impact of NFPA 13, 13D, 13R, and 25 and their relevance to frozen fire sprinkler system piping and component investigations will also be addressed, as will new antifreeze fire sprinkler system requirements.
